July 18, 1995 Mexican Superstar Selena released the hit song, "Dreaming of You" and today as part of my Driving Around Karaoke, I sing it to you!
I love this song and it takes me back to my youth. When I was in high school I took a few years of spanish and for one class we watched the 1997 movie, "Selena" starring Jennifer Lopez.
Every Monday I continue to sing to you! I hope you're enjoying my Driving Around Karaoke. I am planning on adding more and more to my brand and YouTube channel. With you support I'll one day make it to where I want to be.

I had a rough week. I got laid off from my day job and depression set in, then I got extremely and got a new job quickly! I start on Monday! All is good.
But I realized, I didn't blog for you on Monday about "I Will Always Love You" from my Driving Around Karaoke episode on Monday. The song was originally written and performed by Dolly Parton and then redone by Whitney Houston for her hit movie "The Bodygaurd".
I wrote a new song!!
The background this song is from me watching the TV show mistresses and movies about afairs. So much pain and suffering and thought hey! I can write a song about that. Please head over to YouTube to check it out!
See you on Monday! Oh and PS:
I LOVE this song - it's ridiculous.
In 2013 Warner Bros. revamped the Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel, "The Great Gatsby" into a magestic colorful movie filled music of the current day. The book is actually one of my personal favorites! The writing is superb and the story is so thick and twisted. I love the love and passion Gatsby has for Daisy, and how the luster of passion quickly dims into fear. GREAT STORY!
The song Young and Beautiful was performed by Lana Del Rey and now by me!
I do hope you enjoy my cover of this song - I had fun playing with my hair.
I'm REVAMPING all my YouTube videos! The titles of the songs have been adjusted and I will be adding short videos to the beginning and ends of each of my videos! Hope you stay tuned and don't forget to THUMBS it Up, SUBSCRIBE and SHARE!
I woke up this morning and thought it was Friday. I was wrong - it's Thursday
Dawson gets me or really James Van Der Beek gets me.
I feel so tired and exhausted. I was really bummed, last night on my commute home from work I recorded a Driving Around Karaoke and the app that I use DIDN'T save my video - so now it's gone. and it was good! :( Double Bummer for me.
I've had 2 cups of coffee this morning and a chocolate chip cookie. Oh yeah, and for breakfast I had Greek Yogurt with some Honey; that was delicious.
So since tomorrow is Friday, I guess I have more time to plan my weekend and record more songs for you all!
See you next week.
Memes make my life better!
Whitney Houston owned the market in 1992 when she starred in the move, The Bodyguard. Not only was she the main character, but the movie was riddled with her own songs! Genius.
I really enjoy this song because it's pretty ridiculous. But lets face it, I love ridiculous things!
Last night I covered Whitney's version, I'm Every Woman in my Driving Around Karaoke series. This song was originally written by Chaka Kahn in 1978 under her album Chaka.
Just take a few moments to listen to the words of the song and feel free to shake your head.
I will be doing some more research on the Whitney and Chaka relationship, she seems to mention Chaka often her songs. weird.
I hope you all enjoyed my July Genre week of Driving Around Karaoke entitled, Indepence Week! I had a great time recording the songs and singing about the love of my country. Most of the songs I recorded were sung by me at least 3 or 4 times before the version you saw! With my voice still recovering it was a bit hard to sound like I wanted to.
For my Independence Day I had a 3 day weekend off from work and took it by storm! With my Fitbit on my wrist, I hit my daily goal of 10,000 steps each day and then some! woot!
on Friday I went for a nature walk and found some Redwood trees in Orange County - weird. They were beautiful and the temperature by their trunks was so cool. And being an earth lover - I had to hug a tree!
On the July 4th, I woke up at the butt crack of dawn to run a 5k - which was fun! I was a little slow - I only did about a 10:30 minute mile...oh well. But I ran in my best Tipsy Elves tank top - "Party Like Patriot"!
After the race and relaxing afternoon, my hubby and I headed to a friends house for lots of booze, amazing BBQ food, jello shots, Karaoke and Fireworks! I wore a dress I purcashed from the Red Dress Boutique.
And yesterday I went on a Foot Journey (my name for: walk). On this Foot Journey with my hubby, we purchased $1 lemonade from a young kid on the corner, saw a guy walk his mountain bike up a steep hill all the way to the ridge then start riding, we kicked an apple down the road and at a park I almost stepped on a little lizard. I put my finger out and the little lizard head butted my finger; it was cute. So, I picked up a leaf and made him get on it. I wanted to take it home but by man said no. :(
Check out my photos from the weekend:
It is July 4th!!
Today's song in my Driving Around Karaoke Independence Week series is the United States of America's very own National Anthem - The Star Spangled Banner!
History of this day:
Variously known as the Fourth of July and Independence Day, July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution (1775-83). In June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the revolutionary struggle weighed a resolution that would declare their independence from Great Britain. On July 2nd, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later its delegates adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 until the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with typical festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues. (History.com)
July 4th is a Day we Americans Celebrate our Independence and gather in unity and Remember.
I have always wanted to sing this song at a Baseball Game. It is a tradition that our National Anthem is performed before ANY sports event. We remember why we are a great nation. The words are mighty and the spirit behind them is forceful!
Many celebreties and singers have sang this song at our great sports event - the Super Bowl - but no one can top the amazing, remarkable singer - Whitney Houston. Check out her version at the 1991 Super Bowl XXV

It's Day 5 of Independence Week, but the 3rd of July!
Today's cover song is one that I love dancing to! I sing the song, made popular by The Andrews Sisters, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". This song was written in 1941 during World War II and was released in the Abbott and Costello film, Buck Privates. AND - this song was nominated for an Academy Award!
If you get a chance, watch the video of them on YouTube, they are great singers, but man they were weird dancers!
Thank you to Everyone who has faithfully visited my website this week during my Driving Around Karaoke genre series - Independence Week!!
It was quite a bit of of a struggle for me as I have been recovering from a horrible cold that took my voice and most of the Patriotic songs are sung by men! It was hard to find female led songs (that were recognizable).
I had fun and I hope you did too!
Tomorrow if the 4th of July, our Independence Day! I will be releasing my last song for Independence week at 12:00noon tomorrow and I hope you all tune and and celebrate the day with me.

The Dixie Chicks are popular country girl band over here in the USA. In 2002 they released an album titled Home. On this album was a song that took us back to the Vietman War and the video shows scenes from the movie Pearl Harbor.
We Americans LOVE our Soldiers!
I have many friends who have served on many branches of our armed services, from the US Navy to the US Marines to the US Army to the US Air Force and the US Coast Guard. They are strong willed, passionate AMAZING friends.
To all Veteran's, Thank you for your Service!
Singing this song constantly brings me to tears. It's a story of bravery and support. The Love of Americans for each other and this country is an untouchable force to be reckoned with.
So far, the past 4 days have been filled with songs of old and new celebrating the Patriotism of the USA. Tomorrow night is that last 5:00pm PST post for Independence Week, so please, go and share this video with your friends and family and coworkers.
A special cover will be released on the 4th of July at 12:00pm PST, the last song for my Driving Around Karaoke genre series of Independence Week.

September 11, 2001 was a tragic day for the United State of America. We were brought under attack on our own soil. This Terrorist attach ignited a fire in the hearts of America. Within a week of September 11th, Toby Keith wrote this passionate song, "Courtesy of the Red White & Blue" in 30 minutes.
He never intended on releasing this song, but who ever heard it, loved it. It is our war cry, our united passion and our fight for justice.
Singing this song brought me joy and I could feel the energy in the words. I love living in America, and I love being a US Citizen.
Share your Patriotism by sharing this video as we all celebrate Independence Week!
